You do not need to have everything sorted out before calling us. A few thoughtful steps—and knowing what to leave alone—can make the entire transition easier.

Three things to do
before we meet.
Name one decision-maker
Choose the homeowner, executor, trustee, or family representative who can approve decisions and keep communication clear. If several people are involved, agree on the primary contact before the consultation.
Share your timeline
Tell us about moving dates, real-estate closings, probate milestones, travel, occupancy, or other deadlines. The earlier we understand the calendar, the better we can shape the plan.
Set these aside
Personal, private,
not for sale.
Before the sale process begins, secure anything personal or sensitive. If you are unsure about an item, leave it in place and point it out during the consultation.
Documents
Financial records, tax documents, deeds, wills, identification, checkbooks, and family papers.
Health & safety
Medications, medical equipment still in use, keys, alarm information, and hazardous materials.
Family keepsakes
Photographs, letters, heirlooms, and anything promised to a family member or beneficiary.
Restricted items
Secure firearms and other regulated items appropriately, and tell us privately that they are present.

- A few general room photos, if they are easy to take
